EtonHouse International School Broadrick, Singapore, receives IGCSE authorization

EtonHouse International School at Broadrick Road, Singapore has received accreditation from the British-based Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). As the world’s most popular international qualification for 14- to 16-year-olds, the IGCSE leads to externally set, marked and certificated examinations from the University of Cambridge.

In the primary years, the school runs the distinguished International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. In 2015, the secondary programme was commenced to offer continuity of schooling for the families in the school driven by a strong demand from existing parents expressing their desire for EtonHouse to offer a secondary programme.

Said Mr Rob Stewart, Principal of EtonHouse International School and Director of Strategic Planning (Education Services), “Our Secondary 1-3 curriculum is specifically designed as a gateway, linking the in-depth conceptual understanding developed in the IB PYP to the intensive study-skills based Cambridge approved IGCSE programme undertaken in Years 10 and 11.

The culmination of these studies is the external IGCSE examination, a world-class international qualification for 14-16-year-olds, which are recognised worldwide by universities and employers. These are a springboard to further education, whether that is through A Levels, the IB Diploma or other streams offered by national educational programmes.”

Obtaining the Cambridge authorisation is a testament to the value EtonHouse places on quality assurance from an external moderator. The academically rigorous bilingual Secondary Programme provides students with a continued pathway with EtonHouse and a wealth of exciting educational opportunities that equip them to be creative and independent thinkers with the skills to be successful in life.
