Lisa is an educator from Wales, U.K. She started her teaching journey 8 years ago working with children aged birth -3 years in a Nursery School in the U.K. that offered a play based curriculum. Looking for a new challenge, Lisa and her husband moved to EtonHouse Singapore to continue their teaching careers in 2005.
With her prior experience in early childhood, she transitioned naturally into her role as an educator where she has been engaging in teaching and learning through the EtonHouse Inquire-Think-Learn pedaogogy. Prior to her current role, Lisa was at EtonHouse Outram Preschool for 6 years where apart from being a class teacher, she was also the Assistant Pre-School Director. In her capacity as an educator and leader she engaged her knowledge, experience and skills to offer a high quality learning environment for children.
Lisa enjoys working in collaboration with her fellow educators and continues to work towards offering children a range of engaging and rich learning experiences at EtonHouse. She also believes in lifelong learning and learning through ongoing research as part of her personal studies, interactions with fellow colleagues and working with the children/parents as partners in the learning journey.

I began teaching English as a second language in 1999 in Barcelona, Spain and since then have developed my interest in teaching in the early years. Prior to Singapore, I lived in Hong Kong where I gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, majoring in Early Childhood Education at Hong Kong University.
I have worked for both the British Council and an International School in Hong Kong. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with young children, in particular encouraging them to explore the world around them and engage with their environment and each other in a positive manner.
I am moving to Singapore with my fiancé. When not working I will be planning for my wedding in the summer of 2011! I also enjoy the many wonderful opportunities for travel that this part of the world can offer.

I am English and have been living in Singapore for just over a year. I moved from London, England where I had been teaching in an outer London school for the last 6 years. I graduated from Roehampton University with a BA Qualified Teacher Status with Early Childhood Studies. The combination of both a teaching and Early Childhood degree has given me a strong philosophical stance that puts play based learning as fundamental to effective learning and development for young children. I also held a leading teacher status in Richmond borough which involved supporting Early Years practitioners to enrich their learning environments and also training development.
In my spare time I love running and ran in the New York marathon in 2007, raising just over $8000 dollars for a cancer charity. I have begun training for a half marathon in Singapore and am gradually getting used to the difference in climate when running outdoors. I also really enjoy Pilates and bike riding along the East Coast. I have recently developed a further interest in photography and am beginning a course in the New Year to help capture some of the amazing sights and scenery I hope to see through my travels in this beautiful part of the world.
