Schools

EtonHouse was founded in 1995 with the opening of its first school on the east coast of Singapore. This foundation school was EtonHouse International School in Broadrick Road. Since that humble beginning EtonHouse has become a major name in education both in Singapore and throughout Asia.
EtonHouse currently operates 52 schools in Singapore and the South East Asian/Asian region. These schools provide quality international education for over 5,000 children from 54 different nations.
The EtonHouse Education Group provides educational services through Pre-Schools, International Schools and Early Childhood Teacher Education Courses. In Singapore these courses are registered with the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports and Council for Private Education; and in China, with the Ministry of Education.
The EtonHouse curriculum follows the International Baccalaureate philosophy of inquiry-based, trans-disciplinary learning. The Literacy and Numeracy strategies from the United Kingdom are used as a reference framework in the primary years.
The Early Years Inquiry Program, entitled Inquire-Think-Learn, is inspired by the Reggio Emilia Project in Northern Italy. This is a child-centred, play-based, constructivist pedagogical approach in which teachers work closely with children as they construct ever-broadening understandings of the world in which they live. This is a curriculum approach acknowledged as best practice throughout the world.
Inquiry learning through the International Baccalaureate and Inquire-Think-Learn approach supports the intellectual, aesthetic, cultural, emotional, social and physical needs of the child. This is achieved through learning that is identified to be engaging, relevant, challenging and significant.
EtonHouse has four authorised International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme World Schools in its group. These are EtonHouse International School in Broadrick Road; EtonHouse Pre-School Newton; EtonHouse International Pre-School Orchard (all in Singapore) and EtonHouse International School in Suzhou, China. EtonHouse Pre-School, Newton and EtonHouse International Pre-School Orchard are the first stand-alone Pre-Schools in Singapore to gain this World School authorization.
EtonHouse offers an outstanding second language program that includes Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi and English as an Additional Language. This program equips children with the skills to be potential bilingual learners. Pre-Sap Mandarin classes and integrated Mandarin programs support children’s development of their language skills in learning environments ideally conducive to second language acquisition.
EtonHouse Education Centre, (www.eec.edu.sg) the training, research and development arm of EtonHouse is an academy for early childhood teacher education and professional development. It facilitates a suite of educational and professional development programs for early childhood educators.
