EtonHouse has 4 international schools and pre-schools in the Jiangsu Province. The first EtonHouse overseas campus was set up in Suzhou in 2003 during the SARS crisis. The economic environment in 2003 did not support the growth of the school. But with Mrs. Ng’s perseverance and diligence and personal involvement with the school and the community, the Suzhou school is now a bustling international community housed in a state-of-the art facility built by the Suzhou government for EtonHouse.
The Suzhou campus is an International Baccalaureate World School (PYP and MYP) and is built on a brand new, purpose-built campus in the Suzhou Science and Technology Town, with a land area of approximately 3 hectares and a built-in area of 13,800 square metres, including excellent sports facilities such as an indoor swimming pool.
EtonHouse International School in Wuxi also located in Jiangsu province, around 43km from Suzhou. Due to the lack of quality international schools in Wuxi, many students had begun travelling from Wuxi to study at EtonHouse Suzhou. The Wuxi New District Government therefore decided to build an International School in Wuxi catering to the education needs of the community. The result was another brand new purpose-built school. The school began operations in February 2008 with classes from pre-school, primary and middle school, with an official opening by the then Singapore Minister of State for Trade and Industry Mr Lee Yi Shyan in April 2008.
In Nanjing, EtonHouse has 2 campuses, one is an international school built upon invitation of the local government in Nanjing. The other one is a pre-school built by the prestigious Yanlord property developers.
EtonHouse is one of the first Singapore brands to set up base in China and establish a name for itself in the early childhood and international school sector. Through carefully selected partners and well-thought out strategies, Mrs. Ng successfully spearheaded the expansion of this Singaporean brand across Asia. She was also awarded the Woman of Benevolence (ai xin shi zhe) by Suzhou City in China in March 2004 for her significant contributions towards helping the community and promoting cultural practices.
Today, EtonHouse has 11 International Schools/Pre-Schools in 10 different cities in China with several more slated to open in the next few years. It has established a strong reputation of excellence in the local context thus commanding steady enrolments and excellent teaching talents.
Through strategic partnership with renowned property developers from Singapore and Hong Kong (Yanlord, Surbana, Keppel, Brothers, Wharf, Shui On), EtonHouse schools and pre-schools are located in premium up-market facilities with international standards.
EtonHouse Suzhou, Wuxi, Jinan and Nanjing and more recently Dalian were set-up upon invitation by the local government in China thus reinforcing the brand’s international appeal and positioning not just amongst the parents in China but also the government authorities.
EtonHouse has over 16 years of experience in running pre-schools and international schools and has over 52 schools spread across Singapore, China, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, India, Malaysia and Vietnam. With over 5000 students from 54 different nationalities, the EtonHouse schools have a truly dynamic and multicultural environment with proven expertise in offering international educational environments of the highest standards.
