An academy for research and professional development
The EEC is situated within the EtonHouse complex at Paya Lebar. It offers three beautifully appointed teaching spaces, a demonstration preschool classroom, library and student lounge.
Boasting a highly qualified and experienced academic faculty of 19, the EEC offers a suite of reviewed and accredited early childhood teacher education courses. Unique to the EEC is the dual qualification pathway that is offered to candidates. Embedded in many of the programs is the well respected CACHE qualification framework from the UK.
The EEC also has trained a group of qualified and accredited Mentor Teachers who provide on-site support, guidance, and evaluation for trainee teachers whilst they are undertaking their practical experiences in early childhood classrooms.
The current courses provided are:
Certificate in Infant and Toddler Care
(Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sport approved)
Entry requirement: 3 ‘O’ levels
Certificate in Preschool Teaching, including the CACHE level 2 Certificate in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
(Preschool Qualifications Accreditation Committee accredited)
Entry requirement: 3 ‘O’ levels
CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Childcare and Education
Entry requirement-School leaving certificate, IELTS 5.5
Diploma in Preschool Education - Teaching, including the CACHE level 3 Diploma in Early Years Practice
(Preschool Qualifications Accreditation Committee accredited)
Entry requirement: 5 ‘O’ levels
Diploma in Preschool Education – Leadership
(Preschool Qualifications Accreditation Committee accredited)
Entry requirement: Diploma in Preschool Education - Teaching
Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Education, including the CACHE level 3 Diploma in Early Years Practice
(Preschool Qualifications Accreditation Committee accredited)
Entry requirement: Degree or 3 year Diploma in any field.
Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education in association with Roehampton University, UK.
Eligibility Criteria: Diploma in Pre-school Education-Teaching and Diploma in Pre-school Education-Leadership
Master of Arts in Education (Early Childhood) in association with Roehampton University, UK.
Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood, Social Sciences or equivalent
